The Fur Babies I Meet

I get to photograph some pretty awesome dogs doing Fur Ever Yours Photography.  I love visiting the sweet little house pets, but I really love seeing the rescue dogs! The ones that are from our local shelter, the ones hanging out at foster homes, or who are passing through thanks to local rescue groups, or who were recently adopted into their Fur Ever homes.  I love meeting these furry little personalities!

I recently got to photograph several little sweeties and I'd like to share their photos with you here!

Gigi (who was a foster, and who has recently found her Fur Ever home) and Sadie and Sissy all reside(d) at the same home with a good friend of mine, and fellow shelter volunteer.  She LOVES to spoil and pamper all of her dogs.  It's not uncommon for her to foster the little dogs that come into the shelter, those little dogs sure do love her! So without further ado, here are some photos of Gigi (before she got adopted), and Sissy and Sadie (who will always be staying with my friend, they are NOT for adoption).

Sadie
She is an old gal, a senior dog that was taken in from the local shelter and fostered by my good friend.  Sadie is very much loved and spoiled rotten, and I do not forsee her ever going anywhere.  She seems quite at home with them.

Sadie
Looking into her eyes, you can tell she's a dog that's been around, and she's seen things.  If she could speak human, I know she'd have some tales to tell us.

Sissy
She is a dog that was rescued from a puppy mill.  She is my friends shadow and is never far from her side.  She is quite the difficult customer to get a good photo of, so I have to snap a photo when I can get one, and this is actually one of the better ones I've been able to get! (other than her angry reindeer photo I snapped around Christmas time! THAT photo is priceless).

This next batch of dogs is hanging out at a local rescue group here in town that I also work with.  I love going out there and meeting all of the gooorgeous fur babies she has hanging out there! She has lots of senior dogs and every age in between, and every size too!
Buddy
What a handsome little guy he is! He's actually affiliated with a different rescue group, but was hanging out at another one for the time being.

Buddy again, leaning all handsome on the fire hydrant

Buddy

Buddy
He was my buddy by the time I left and loved curling up on my lap!

Howie
This little guy is so handsome! What's not to love?

Howie
He's quite the mover, never in one place for more than a second, but not in a hyper way, just in a curious dog way.

Patches
Just a sweet little gal looking for some love and attention

Rowdy
Such a sweet dog, he's a senior and part of a bonded pair.

Rowdy
That face! I love that face, poor boy! I just want to hug him and love him! How anyone could just give him up, I don't know.

Joey
This little guy is bonded with Rowdy, he's a senior dog as well.  He's a good boy and loves to have his ears scratched.

Joey
Another handsome face!
These next fur babies are some that are/were at our local shelter (I haven't been able to make it out there in a couple of weeks so I'm not sure if they've been adopted or not!) But they were definitely some of my fave little cuties!
Willow
A very beautiful and sweet little lady! She was very unique and we all fell in love with her.

Willow
Doesn't she just look gorgeous?

Sammy
This pup new how to pose for the camera! Look at that face, he's just smiling away for the camera.  If only they all could pose so well!

Sammy
Such a pretty boy!! I loved how well he sat for me!

Willow
Testing out a dog house in the play yard
I know, I know.  I'm a lucky gal! I get to see all kinds of cute dogs! I love being able to play with the dogs, and rub their tummies and take their pictures.  Not many people can say they get to meet and greet so many precious fur babies.

One of my new favorite fur babies?  Well...he's not a dog...but he THINKS he is! Please meet...Tyrone!
Tyrone
Isn't he the cutest little pygmy goat you've ever seen! He's still just a baby.  His Mommy rejected him and he has been bottle fed by a human since day one.  He's been raised around dogs and he fits right in.  He doesn't seem to know he's a goat at all. His Mommy is a human and his siblings are dogs.  Makes sense to me! He's such a cutie pie! Not every day I get to photograph a goat that thinks he's a dog.

I Heart Faces Alphabet W Challenge

So I follow a photography page on Facebook called I Heart Faces, I love their Facebook page and their website.  They post very helpful photography tips, and always do photo challenges.  I don't participate in the challenge itself through their website but I do participate through their Facebook page.  There are some really amazing photographers out there and I love to see the beautiful photos that they post.  They are very inspiring!

Currently they are doing an alphabet challenge and the letter is W.  So I posted a few W themed posts, here were the ones I posted to their Facebook page.

Big WHEELS from a Monster Truck, taken at the Dads Fest that a local Church held for Father's Day.  The INCENERATOR was awesome!

A WOBBLY bridge from our trip to the zoo

A one legged WHEELIE from the BMX rider at Dads Fest in June that was showing off some sweet bike tricks (that yes my son has been trying to copy, he is all about going fast and doing awesome things on his super cool bike, he thought this BMX rider was the coolest person he'd ever seen, until he saw the Motorcross rider doing some super cool stunts too!)
There are lots of other W themed photos I could have chose, but these were my favorites!

If you are ever on Facebook look up I Heart Faces and check out all of the cool photos people post!

We Survived Our Summer Vacation

We survived our first summer vacation, and it was a great one! The kids had a blast at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska is a great spot to go for a family vacation.  We stayed two days but had a lot of fun, and saw everything there was to see.  The kids had a blast and so did I.  We loved the jungle area and the dinosaur exhibit and can't forget the aquarium. We've done a lot of fun things summer.  The drive in movies, the lake, the zoo, visiting friends and family we haven't seen in a very long time.  Always take photos of special events! Don't be afraid to be IN your special photos as well, you don't always have to be the one behind the camera.  Get in there and have FUN!

My niece stretching her legs at one of the many rest stops on our way to Omaha!

My daughter being silly at one of the many rest stops on our vacation to Omaha.

My daughter has had a HUGE obsession with giraffes since she was little, and she was BEGGING us to bring home this LIFE SIZED wooden giraffe from the zoo.  Nice try kid!

Beginning zoo trip DAY 1

This cool little fountain had a globe on it that the kids could turn and move due to the water, they loved it.

The boys posing for a photo in the desert dome, they thought it was a blast.

My son Marshall hanging out with some Gorilla statues at the zoo

My son Keegan hanging out with the Gorilla statues while his brother and sister hanging out in the background.

The kids hanging out at the Gorilla house.

The boys loved the learning center and had a great time playing with the whale sounds.

Kams found a smaller giraffe and wanted to bring it home too.

My son Marshall loved the dino cut outs at the dino exhibit

My kids loved the rope bridge in the jungle exhibit.  It was fun walking across it next to a big water fall.

Last day at the zoo! (Thank you hubby for taking the photo)

On our way home from the zoo we stopped in to visit my best friend from high school that I haven't seen in awhile.  It was great to see her!
Family vacations bring so many wonderful memories!
